1 Month

Park, it has been one month (plus a couple weeks - whoops!) since you joined our family.  You are such a sweet, easy baby.  The few times that it's been just me and you have been a breeze.  I'm always comparing you to Lucy when she was your age, and I notice so many differences.  You look so much alike, but your temperament couldn't be more opposite.

At 1 month you are:

Lucy's best friend.

Mellow.  You don't need much.  You're a happy camper 99% of the time.

Kinda stingy with smiles.  We've only had a few (unintentional) smiles.

Quiet.  I'm pretty sure Lucy cooed and gurgled a lot more when she was a newbie, but you hardly make a peep-- except for this sweet humming sound you make while nursing.

Strong.  You don't mind tummy time at all.

A fan of the swing (in moderation).  I'll occasionally put you in it to nap when I'm desperate, but you're also content to sit in it while I fix lunch or move the laundry.

A sucky sleeper.  I've decided to just go with the flow and follow your sleep cues, rather than try to follow the Babywise schedule and get stressed when you're totally and completely inconsistent. It's brutal, and I'm exhausted, but at least I'm no longer worrying about your sleep habits.  (Please feel free to start sleeping more than 1.5 hours at a time.)

And a wiggly sleeper!
 Sneezy, but otherwise healthy!

11 pounds and 21.25 inches, 80th and 10th percentile, and wearing 0-3 month clothing.

Exclusively breastfed.  You've been introduced to the bottle and have had no problems.  Now I'm starting to think about introducing the pacifier (to dissuade you from sucking your thumb).

A big fan of bathtime.  Daddy does all of your baths.

Known by two other names: Buddy and Goat-- because your cry sounds a whole lot like a goat.  Oh!  And, Mr. Mayor (by Grampy).

We love you bunches, Bud.  You are the perfect addition to our family.  You've made life so much fuller.  Everything is twice as much fun now, especially bedtime!  We can't wait to watch you grow.
